On November 10, the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) was successfully concluded. According to the briefing at the closing ceremony of the third CIIE, the accumulated intended turnover for one year was US$72.62 billion, an increase of 2.1% over the previous expo.

“We are happy to see that the expo is being held as scheduled. This year’s CIIE is a strong sign of China’s further recovery from COVID-19,” said Hubertus Troska, a Daimler AG board member responsible for China. The sentence expressed the common feeling of many automobile giants attending the automobile exhibition at the third CIIE. As an international economic and trade event with the largest scale, most participating countries, and a combination of online and offline methods in the midst of ongoing efforts for epidemic prevention and control, the third CIIE has sent a positive signal to the world that China is committed to enhancing opening up and sharing its big market with other countries, thus providing strong support for implementing the strategy of expanding domestic demands and accelerating the formation of a new development pattern featuring domestic and international dual circulations. The automobile exhibition area of the third CIIE has become an epitome of the globalization and innovation of free trade with the best products and unique experience.

Since the first CIIE, following the instructions of the Ministry of Commerce and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, authorized by the China International Import Expo Bureau, the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai (CPITSH) has taken charge of exhibitor invitation and relevant coordination work of the automobile exhibition area of the CIIE. It has invited world-renowned automobile companies to participate, including Volkswagen Group, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Volvo, Tesla, Jaguar Land Rover, FCA, Bosch, Aisin, Webasto, etc. for three consecutive years.
